The practice
Small on purpose.
MATH Surveying Limited is an engineering surveying company registered in England and Wales (no. 12780907), based in Kettering, Northamptonshire. We work nationwide from Kettering — the A14 and M1 put most of the East Midlands within a short drive. The work is on your site; we do not run a public office.
The practice was founded in 2020 by Ardu Claassens. The point was not to become another national survey brand. It was to put an experienced engineering surveyor on the phone, then on the site — earthworks volumes and plant models, concrete and steel, and an as-built you can issue.
That is why contractors keep us on. Volumes a QS can defend. Setting out that understands a pour window and a steel delivery. Machine-control models that load without a fight. An as-built — and scan to BIM where the geometry is dense — on the same grid as the rest of the job.

How we work
Quality is a method, not a slogan.
- Control first. Site grid, ground control and checkpoints before we trust a surface.
- The right instrument. Aerial for coverage, GNSS and total station for setting out, scan for complex structure and movement. We will say if a method is the wrong one.
- Legal to fly. UAV work under CAA Operational Approval UAS 13741, with RAMS that a principal contractor can file.
- Stay on the job. Revisions, plant queries and a follow-up visit for continued service are included, not a surprise invoice.
